BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION GUIDELINES

Please know that celebrating birthdays is important and that we here at Davis value celebrations.  We welcome you to celebrate your child, and we ask that you follow the guidelines below:
  • All treats brought to school must be pre-approved by the classroom teacher for allergy/diabetes safety reasons.
  • We ask that treats be limited to cupcakes, cookies, donuts, and handheld treats that do not require extra plates, knives, etc.
  • We ask that candles, party favors, hats, etc. not be brought to school.
  • Once approved by the homeroom teacher, treats may be distributed by parents in the café only to students in the homeroom class.

  • New! Pizza may be pre-ordered for the class through our café.  We have a variety of toppings available for students to enjoy.  Order forms and guidelines are located on the Davis website under the "Café" tab.

Volunteer Information and Video

Cobb County School District FERPA guidelines for parent volunteers require that ALL parent volunteers must watch a very brief (about 3 minute) video that outlines the FERPA guidelines that must be followed  and how they relate to volunteers working in schools.

Anyone volunteering must watch the video and sign the agreement. Anyone coming in to volunteer can take few minutes to view the video and sign the form.  The form only has to be completed once and Davis Elementary will keep the form on file.

Prior to your first volunteer shift, we need you to:

  1. Watch the video.  The link is:  https://studentprivacy.ed.gov/training/school-volunteers-and-ferpa
